Current Scholars

Scholar Enrichment is one of the most important pieces of the BUILD EXITO program. We are always looking for ways to support you as a scholar. Our various institutions offer a three-fold approach to EXITO enrichment activities (Workshop Time, Research-Related Event Time, and Mentorship).

Our Student Training Model

BUILD EXITO aims to identify students early in their undergraduate college career and engage them in finding solutions to today's major health problems. Students get the skills and support they need to pursue research careers in a variety of disciplines.

EXITO takes students through a research training program where they receive mentoring, gain hands-on research experience, participate in an integrated professional development curriculum, and engage in a supportive community.

To learn more, review the Student Training Model Page.

Research Experience for Our Scholars

Research Learning Communities are a centerpiece of the BUILD EXITO program. In long-term mentored internships (during program years 2 and 3), Scholars gain research experience while making meaningful contributions to externally-funded, faculty-directed studies across a range of health-related fields (e.g., biomedical, behavioral, social, clinical, and translational research).
