Do you know about the Trimet Reduced Fare program?
TriMet's Reduced Fare Program gives access to 50% off TriMet single-use tickets and day passes, and 72% off monthly passes. Individuals with an annual income at or below $24,980 can qualify. Similarly, a family of four with an income of less than $51,500 will also qualify.
I think I qualify, now what?
Now you need to confirm your eligibility! TriMet is now able to verify your eligibility remotely on the TriMet website. Alternatively, you can make an appointment to visit the TAPS office and be verified in person. Once your verification is submitted, you will need to make your way to the TriMet ticket office at Pioneer Square where they will take your photo and print give you your personalized HopCard!
How do I load money onto my HopCard?
You can load money onto your HopCard at several grocery/convenience store locations, Trimet's website, over the phone, using the MyHopCard smartphone app, or in person at the PSU Transportation and Parking Office!
My HopCard is loaded and I'm ready to ride!
Every ride you take (even transfers) you must tap your card on the HopCard reader, this is your proof of payment! If you are not sure what it means to tap your HopCard or have not seen a reader before, watch the video demonstration below for better guidance!
